GCSE PE 60% practical 40% Written Exam

Edexcel BTEC Sports Award. 2 compulsory units to   pass. 4 units to be completed to gain the award. One unit an online   examination. Three units controlled assessments.

KS4 Course Details:

GCSE PE. Practical – experience new and old   sports to develop skills and tactical play. Learn about the body systems and   reasons why to participate in sport. Contemporary issue, women in sport,   drugs etc.

BTEC Sport – Look at Fitness for sport and   exercise. Practical Sport. Lead Sport activities and qualities of a   successful leader and training for personal fitness.

KS4 Number of lessons per week:

GCSE PE – 2 hours (1 practical & 1 theory)

BTEC Sport Award (2 hours)
