The Big Sleep Out

29th September 2016
In July students from year 7 and 8 braved the inclement summer weather to sleep out under the stars for charity. The students got to experience the difficulties faced by thousands of homeless people across the country each and every night.
Students had to build their own shelters out of cardboard, string and bin bags, strong enough to survive the rain and wind. Students were not allowed their phones or gadgets to help replicate those who have very few possessions. Students were given soup, hot drinks and hot dogs to help replicate the food charities often give out to homeless people. All students were fantastic and survived the whole night through wind and rain.
Students and teachers were awarded a certificate for completing their challenge and managed to raise £400 for the homeless charity 'The Big Issue'. Well done to all those who participated!
