Year 11 have their final breakfast meeting

12th June 2018

Year 11 once again demonstrated their relentless determination to achieve their maximum potential in their exams at the breakfast meeting this morning. Year 11 students have met with the Principal and core staff every Tuesday morning for a full year to share important messages, revise, speak to their teachers and of course, enjoy an array of tasty breakfast foods. This morning marked their final breakfast meeting and, even though staff and students alike are exhausted, the hard work continued as ever. It was ‘books out’ and ‘brains on’ as students settled down to work for the last time.

A group of hardworking students gave a few minutes of their time to discuss what makes the weekly breakfast meetings so successful:

  • “Having a balanced breakfast gives me the energy to be able to work hard all day.” (JB)
  • “Meeting every week is an anchor point; we have a calm space where we can catch up with friends and talk about our revision plans, exams and all this over a croissant! I will be really sad to leave JWA. It’s things like this breakfast that show how much the school cares about us. It’s not all exams, exams, exams. We count as people.” (WC)
  • “I really like how the teachers come and give us advice and make us feel supported.” (OA)
  • “The food is the number 1 thing about the breakfast meeting: Belgian waffles, chocolate brioche, cereal bars, fruit and then orange and apple juice.” (CM)

Year 10s begin their own breakfast club on Tuesday, 26th June.
